The popular game, Spider Hunter Kill It With Fire, is all set to make its way to VR headsets later this year. Development of the VR release for Casey Donnellan, who also developed the flat screen release, is being led by the solo developer.
The VR version is scheduled to launch on Quest 2, SteamVR, and both the original PSVR and PSVR 2 later this year. There is also a flatscreen version that can be checked out by viewing the previously-mentioned trailer.
The game involves going to war with house spiders, where you smash rooms and create new tools from household items to eliminate the arachnid threat once and for all.
Long-legged stalkers can hide anywhere and everywhere. However, you can increase your odds of success by collecting an arsenal of weapons, utilizing state-of-the-art spider-tracking technology and mastering the new VRACHNID(™) gloves to better detect these eight-legged creatures. Keep an eye on the tracker and listen for the telltale chirps that signal a spider, spiderling, or other creepy-crawly.
Use stationary and frying pans to smash these spiders, take out entire armies of them with ninja weapons, or obliterate them with shotguns and TNT if necessary. If you still feel spider legs dragging across your skin, bring out your flamethrower and incinerate them all.
Publishing duties for Kill It With Fire VR will be undertaken by tinyBuild. Speaking about the game, developer Casey Donnellan stated, “Fans have been asking for a VR version of Kill It With Fire since the first video of the original gameplay. I’m very happy that we can finally put hideous spiders on a screen less than an inch from the eyes of the players!”
Update: It has been confirmed that Kill It With Fire VR will launch on April 13th for Quest 2 and PC VR. The original PSVR and PSVR 2 release will come later in the year. The article was first published on February 24th and a new trailer is available below.
