The Lords of the Fallen Reveals Impressive Game Engine in New “Technical Showcase” Trailer

Publisher CI Games and developer Hexworks have unveiled a new technical reveal trailer for the upcoming action RPG Lords of The Fallen. The recently released trailer showcases the game’s intricate character customization options, allowing players to create a unique personality by combining 3D scans of real people with UE5’s own technology. The game is set to release sometime in 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.

During Epic Games’ recent “State of Unreal” presentation at Game Developers Conference 2023, Hexworks demonstrated some impressive ways that Unreal Engine 5’s cutting-edge technologies have helped deliver its ambitious vision of the upcoming dark fantasy action RPG. Hexworks took players on a journey to Skyrest Bridge, one of the game’s earliest locations, to demonstrate the game’s amazing mechanics of traveling between two worlds. According to the demo, the team managed to illuminate the complex environments in Lords of the Fallen in real time with Unreal’s Lumen GI, thanks to the set of custom tools created within UE5.

The game also boasts a vast, interconnected world, more than five times the size of the original game, with an expansive RPG experience featuring a huge roster of NPCs and stories to discover. In addition, Lords of the Fallen offers tactical combat with a fast, fluid, and challenging combat system, devastating magic with a wide range of offensive and defensive spells to master, seamless online multiplayer, as well as full character customization and progression options.
