The second chapter of The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, titled Retribution, is now out on PlayStation VR2 and PC VR.
This chapter launched last December for Quest 2, but it experienced serious bugs and glitches that drastically impacted gameplay. However, Skydance Interactive patched the game two weeks later, fixing major bugs. In our review, we noticed that the most significant bugs had been resolved, but smaller issues remained.
The game is now available on PC VR and PSVR 2, and players can transfer their save data from Chapter 1 on Meta, PC, and PlayStation platforms to a copy of Chapter 2 on those same platforms. (Pico support for this feature is coming soon.) Skydance also released a day one patch that includes improvements to ambient lighting, NPC animations, and balanced armored enemies.
Skydance revealed that Retribution introduces platform-specific visual updates on PSVR 2. Exact details were not provided, but you can see some images in the PSVR 2 and PC VR trailer embedded above. Although the Quest 2 version looks decent, there is plenty of room for improvement. We hope the power of the PS5 will allow Skydance to increase the game’s graphical fidelity on PSVR 2.
The PS5 version of Saints & Sinners – Chapter 1 is also available on PSVR 2, bringing the critically acclaimed game to Sony’s latest headset. If you own the Tourist Edition of the previous game on PS4, you will receive the PS5 version for free. If you have the standard edition on PS4, you can upgrade for $10. For those new to the franchise, Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 are available in a bundle for PSVR 2.
