Destiny 2 players have discovered a bug with an exotic hunter armor that allows a specific ability to one-shot enemies within the Crucible, making hunters overpowered in PvP. Although bugs and glitches are nothing new for Destiny 2, players have been facing numerous issues after the release of Lightfall. Most of the bugs discovered during the early stages of the expansion have been fixed, but many more seem to appear every day, causing worries among players about the future of the game.
Lightfall has been surrounded by controversy since its release, with the community discussing its awkward narrative directions and crowded Strand introductions. As players began to interact with the updated sandbox, various game-breaking bugs were discovered, and the PvP landscape has not been exempt. Destiny 2 players started abusing an interaction between the Dynamo and Reaper Armor mods to generate orbs of power. Bungie disabled these misbehaving mods until fixing the issue.
Popular Destiny 2 YouTuber Hynra posted a video demonstrating how the Khepri’s Sting exotic arms can be used to shoot another player with the Void Hunters’ Smoke Bomb ability, killing them with only one shot. The video shows the player using Khepri’s Sting-powered smoke bomb to kill another player standing inside a Ward of Dawn while using a Glaive shield for additional defensive capabilities. The player points out that the lethality of this ability is related to the enemy’s frame rate, causing many other issues in Destiny 2.
The video illustrates how the exotic is causing other aspects of the smoke bomb to malfunction as well. Khepri’s Sting was reworked for Lightfall, allowing Smoke Bomb to grant True Sight only when damaging enemies and not as a proximity-based trap. However, Hynra’s video demonstrates how players can hit teammates or even manually fire the Shadow Bomb with a teammate standing next to it to activate Truesight. The resulting bug is unfair for hunters using this Exotic, which is likely to share the same fate as other buggy Destiny 2 Exotic armors.
Trials of Osiris has introduced one of the most powerful weapons in the current Destiny 2 sandbox, and the Crucible has been enjoying a wave of positivity. However, with a new mid-season update slated for additional changes, players can expect Bungie to fix these bugs, ensuring a smooth experience.
Destiny 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
